Title

Celebrate the coastal modernism of St Leonards-on-Sea with this bold art print by Andy Tuohy, depicting the cast-concrete seafront shelters designed in the 1930s by Sidney Little—“The Concrete King.” In a refined Art Deco, Nautical Moderne style, these unique structures lined the two-tier promenade at Eversfield Place, offering shade and respite with a distinctly streamlined aesthetic. Part of Little’s comprehensive seafront vision alongside Bottle Alley and the landmark Marine Court, the shelters remain integral to the area’s modernist legacy, with some carefully restored and others showing the patina of time.
