Celebrate London’s industrial icon with this bold Battersea Power Station art print by Andy Tuohy. Designed in the 1930s by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott with the London Power Company’s engineers, the brick-built complex was constructed in two phases: Battersea A (1930s) and Battersea B (1950s), creating the famous four-chimney silhouette. A masterpiece of monumental brickwork and elegant Art Deco detailing—most notably in the original control rooms—the station generated electricity for much of the 20th century before closing in 1983. Carefully restored and redeveloped in the 2010s–2020s, it has reopened as a mixed-use riverside destination while retaining its Grade II* listed fabric. Culturally, Battersea is etched into music history through Pink Floyd’s 1977 album Animals, whose cover featured a giant inflatable pig floating between the chimneys—an image that cemented the building’s mythic status.
